Welcome all!
My name is Heléne Rosborough, (Pronounced like Helaine Rossburrow). I was born in Midland, MI but spent the majority of my childhood in Houston, TX, and I have always felt like I’m from both places! I am grateful to my hometowns for my Midwestern sensibility and Southern charm.
My first love in the performing arts (and possibly in general) was music. My dad plays the saxophone, piano, and guitar - so there was always a melody of some kind floating through my home. I was one of those band/theatre/choir kids. After my first musical, I knew that theatre was what I wanted to do with my life. It was Annie in the 9th grade, and I had my very first split track as Pepper/Star-to-be. The rest is history!
Outside of theatre, I love to write songs on my guitar or piano, ski, make crêpes, go for long drives, and watch movies! I love to rewatch movies as long as I am still noticing new things in them (favorites include Interstellar, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Avengers: Endgame, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).
During my four years at Nazareth University, I was lucky enough to study abroad in London. I studied Shakespeare at The Globe and took classes at Danceworks with West End professionals. It was truly like a dream to me, and I’m endlessly grateful for everything I learned across the pond! The experience transformed me both as a performer and as a human - I left London as the most confident, worldly, and self-sufficient version of myself to date.
A huge passion in my life that I discovered during college is theatre education. In my opinion, kids are some of the loveliest (and funniest!) human beings on the planet. It is incredibly fulfilling to me to teach young people about the thing that I love, and it’s even more rewarding when I get to watch them start to love it too. Kids have an uninhibited sense of play, and I believe to be a fantastic actor is to be fantastic at playing!
Don’t hesitate to reach out, I would love to meet you!
